"Yep, they were right! - We counted and this was our 9th different hotel in Deadwood in the past few years and first time at the Celebrity. It was worth the wait. Wow! Great staff and wonderful room. We stayed in 202, maybe the smallest of their rooms, but it was clean, large bathroom and wonderfully cool for the 4th of July Holiday, which believe me, other hotels are not. The patio was great for quite time and for watching action on the street below. We have always loved the casino and the staff, but it was great to be able to walk up the stairs to home. We were late check in and I was met with all papers waiting for me and they even asked how to say my name correctly! No one has ever done that. Very flexible for letting us in and out of the fantastic parking next to the building. It's nice to add to the complements for such a class operation. Our search for our 'Deadwood Home' may have ended here"

"I have stayed in 5 star hotels that were not as nice." - Amazing Room! We were there for 4th of July and stayed in room 219 - a "luxurious King". The room was amazing. When we first walked I was little worried as you enter through the casino and check in through the cashier's window. However once on the 2nd floor, I was quite surprised. Our room had a jacuzzi and fireplace, and was immaculate and modern. We faced the street so we could watch the action but the room was quiet. I have stayed in 5 star hotels that were not as nice. There as a really nice sun deck between the 2 wings and it nice to chill out on that patio. They had hassel free parking next to the hotel. I think one night would be enough in Deadwood but would definately recommend this hotel."

"Wonderful room; great staff. We stayed in Room 101 in the non-smoking section of the Hotel/Casino. Although we were on the 1st floor it was amazingly quiet. The room itself was elegant (with period furniture) with a fabulous bathroom. The staff went our of their way to make our stay enjoyable."

"Cool hotel with luxury rooms! Awesome location!” Well if I am in Deadwood SD, you can bet I will be staying here again. It is truly a beautiful hotel with luxury rooms that in no way remind you that you are in South Dakota. The rooms are luxurious with every amenity you could want (even a heated towel bar in the granite bathroom!!). It really is beautiful. The hotel itself has a casino (which is every hotel in Deadwood) but this one by far had the best accommodations. We had a nonsmoking room which really did not smell of smoke. The hotel boasts a Hollywood movie set theme which we really enjoyed checking out. It was a great hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It was very reasonably priced as well."

"Great rooms and great location! My family of 4 including girls ages 9 & 11 stayed here in August of 2009 on our way back to the Midwest from Yellowstone. After a week of driving and staying in cabins, my kids were super excited by the room. Very clean and well decorated, great shower and bathroom. We spent the day walking around Deadwood and this hotel is centrally located. It does have private, off-street parking for hotel guests. In the evening, Mom & Dad could have a couple drinks and play the slots while the kids were comfortably in the room only steps away watching a movie."

"“Wonderful Hotel”. My husband and I stayed at the Celebrity Hotel in Deadwood, South Dakota August 14-16, 2009. This hotel is right on Main Street and from our 2nd floor room we could view the 4:00 PM daily gunfight. The hotel staff was very helpful and answered any questions we presented to them. Our room (a king suite) was excellent. Everything was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel is centrally located and an easy walk to everything in Deadwood. We would stay here again and recommend it to everyone."

"“Great”! Room was very nice. Great lighting in the bedroom. The bathroom was just what other reviewers said - Awesome. Marble, tub, glass enclosed shower. Our room was quiet. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was set up behind two gaming tables and you could sit at the bar to eat. Nothing extra special but good variety, even breakfast burritos in the freezer of the refrigerator. Nothing like a microwave to warm up breakfast. Overall, this must be the best value in Deadwood."

"“Impeccably clean!” A wonderful place in Deadwood. A private parking lot and access through the casino. The casino is smoking, so just keep that in mind if you are a non-smoker. ""Excellent Stay, will not stay anywhere else". My husband and I stayed in a luxury king suite 2/15/09, We loved this hotel, we had a nice view of Deadwood's Main Street. The room was awesome, the jacuzzi and shower rocked! The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was Excellent, we asked for an early check in and a late check out and they accommodated us.(I was surprised about the early check in since it was the day after Valentines day) We have stayed at several other hotels in Deadwood, this was our first stay at the Celebrity, but will be the only place we stay in the future. We picked this hotel because of the reviews on trip advisor, We have walked by it many times and really have not noticed it. Thanks everyone for your reviews!"

"“Celebrity is a real Diamond!”. This Hotel is a darling "Diamond in the Rough"! We have stayed here many, many times in several different rooms. They are absolutely sparkling clean, and offer many extra ammenities...heated towel bars, european soaps, etc. Our last stay , we were in a suite which included a jetted tub, glass shower, and an amazing view of the mountains along with a remote control for the floor to ceiling drapes. Deadwood certainly takes you back in time, but this Hotel is very modern and "upscale", along with an extremely frieindly and helpful staff. I would highly reccomend the Celebrity!"

"“Felt like a "Celebrity" at this hotel”. We stayed in 2 "luxury king" rooms while traveling with my family. The rooms were fabulous and just as pictured on the website. They were spacious, clean and had nice amenities. The bathroom was also quite large and had a towel warmer, which was nice since we were there when it was pretty chilly. The location was superb, right in the middle of the "action". All in all we had a great stay and I would not hesitate to recommend the Celebrity Hotel to anyone."

"Everything first class! As an ex flight attendant I have stayed at more than my share of hotels around the world. My Husband and I and two of our family visiting from Australia had the pleasure of staying with you during the second week of July this year. Your hotel is second to none, wonderful friendly staff and service from check in to check out, comfortable beautifully furnished, clean rooms, amazing bathrooms. "BEST hotel on our trip! Would love to return! This hotel was amazing! Its location was amazing. You are right in the middle of everything. Part of the hotel has been newly renovated and the rooms were beautiful. Not to mention the bathroom....I was in Heaven....they even had heated towels for you. The breakfast was fine, it's all packaged food, but it's FREE! We went to all of the casinos on the strip and did the BEST at this casino. You cannot hear any of the casino noise from your room either! The staff was exceptionally friendly and even gave us pointers on what we should go see. The recommendation we go eat at the Midnight Star Restaurant - Kevin Costner owns it and the food was great! The car museum and movie props were great! I would stay here again! We LOVED it!"

"“Fabulous!!!!!” Loved this hotel. The location was perfect - right in the middle of everything. The room was so well furnished and very very clean and offered high quality toiletries. The staff were very friendly and had the feeling of a mom and pop place with the staff sharing the check in, bar and gambling tables. The terrace is a real plus and an opportunity to soak up the street life from a bird's eye view and also a great place to meet and talk to other guests, and have a few drinks as the sun goes down. The breakfast was self service and fairly limited, served around the black jack tables, but nevertheless, a novel experience. There was fresh juice, coffee, danish pastries and bread for toast. There were also breakfast burritos in the fridge. All in all, I would highly recommend staying here. The rooms over the casino are guarded by doors to stop the smell of smoke so I believe they really have tried to think of pretty much everything."

"“Wonderful Experience”! The Celebrity Hotel was much more than we expected. Our room was huge and luxuriously decorated & appointed. We could have easily lived in this room for a month. The electric drapes, plasma T-V, and excellent lighting were a plus. Our marble bathroom was a pleasure; it was about 8 x 10. I wish we had enough time to enjoy the large soaking tub, but the heated towel bar, and large shower with the rain head were quite nice. The towels were large and soft, we enjoyed the soaps & lotions. The staff made us feel like a Celebrity at the Celebrity. They were warm, friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. Laundry was $7.50 for a large bag and were were surprised to find our laundry clean & folded a couple of hours later. They recommended wonderful restaurants in Deadwood and overall went out of their way to accommodate us. We were in Deadwood for Kool Deadwood Nights; we were in the center of the action. We were concerned about noise, but our room was very quiet. A complimentary breakfast was in the bar in the morning. We enjoyed coffee, juice, muffins, pastries, cereals, toast, and breakfast burritos. It wasn't anything fancy but it was clean and more than adequate. Unique Qualities: Downstairs was Nelson's Garage containing many historic cars, motorcycles, costumes & memorabia from film & television. Casino was on the first floor, was worried about smoke but it didn't seem to be an issue."

"“Loved this hotel!” We stayed in the Duke Suite which is a two room suite. It was very nice. It was centrally located on the main strip, and we were able to leave our car there and walk anywhere. The hotel has a small parking lot beside the hotel that we were able to park in so we didn't have to park in the parking structure. We found the room and bathroom to be very quiet and clean. There was no restaurant in the hotel, but there many were within a few minute walk. The beds were comfortable, and we enjoyed the free Wi-Fi. The lobby is full of interesting memorabilia from various movies."

"“Unbelievable!” Absolutely fantastic hotel, the Victorian rooms being to the highest of standards the bathrooms being the high-light. Staff were very attentive, polite and helpfull regarding every matter. The rooms were extremely quiet and everything throughout the hotel was extremely clean. Can't imagine any Hotel in Deadwood matching the Celebrity's standards. Parking was free, either right next door or at a multi-level car park 100 yards away. The only downer, and a small one at that, was that the Celebrity didn't have their own restaurant although they did offer a small Continental breakfast but as you are right in the middle of Main Street, teaming with places to dine, it was no problem whatsoever. Would HIGHLY recommend and if the Management or Staff should read this review please accept our sincere thanks for a great 3 days. I sincerely hope we are able to return one day!"

"“Best Hotel We Have Ever Stayed At!” We were at the tail end of our trip to the Black Hills and we decided to stay here one night to wrap up our trip. It was pretty quiet in town (they had just had 12+ inches of snow the week before in the Black Hills) and we read good reviews about this place. Well, we checked in and took one look at our room, went back to the hotel desk and asked for one more night to stay (and extended our vacation!) The room was unbelievable! The bed was comfy, they had WiFI in the room and a nice view overlooking the main street in Deadwood (the hooker mannequins in the windows of the buildings across the street, while creepy, added to the festivities of Deadwood, this ain't Disneyland!) But the best part was the Jacuzzi and shower. We decided we had to have something like this in our home! The front staff were great, the location was great, everything was perfect! We would highly recommend and we plan on going again!!"

Some of the people that I came with actually stayed at a different hotel and they said how they had wished they had stayed at the Celebrity. This was my second year staying at the Celebrity and I have to commend your staff (especially the night staff) for they friendship and just taking good care of their patrons. We are already planning a trip back next July and hope to receive the same hospitality. P.S. I found it ironic that one of your other reveiws talked about leaving with the room key. I did as well and when I got to Sturgis, I called your front desk and she simply arranged that I leave it with an attendant at the Sturgis gas station. That in itself shows great customer service and how much you are all there to take care of us."

"A great find in Deadwood”. This hotel is delightful. The original building is historical; we stayed in the newer non smoking section and our room (212) was beautifully appointed. It had marble floors, marble shower, and granite in the bathroom, as well as heated towel bars. The large curtains ran on an electric switch. It was very clean and comfortable. There is a small collection of movie memorabilia downstairs as well as a casino. It too is well kept. The staff was also very nice. The price of the rooms were also quite reasonable, and they offer a continental breakfast with the room price. We also had a great meal at the Deadwood Social Club above Saloon #10."

"We would like to thank you for making our Second Honeymoon (our 10th anniversary) absolutely wonderful. We stayed in the Grand Celebrity suite and would not trade those memories for anything. The heated marble flooring in the bathrooms was awesome. This is truly a Presidential Suite! The two fireplaces, the big screen TV, the glass shower with 2 shower heads, the electric window curtains and the heated bath towels were totally awesome. Our daughters loved the second bedroom! They called it their Princess room because it had a big screen TV and a fireplace. Thanks for the memories."

"The Celebrity is right on Main Street in Deadwood. My wife and I have stayed there many times and have always loved our stay. The rooms are very clean - one tip: when booking ask for the "luxury" room - they are new rooms in an addition completed sometime in 2006. The other, older side has nice, clean themed rooms like the Elvis room (no purple velvet, just photos). If you want to spring for a suite- they are awesome! Another tip - if you are traveling with another couple and would like to room together, they rent apartments across the street from the casino that have been remodeled and are very nice, with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and full kitchens. The Celebrity has a casino with mainly slots and some movie memorabilia - some of it is kind of cool. The have live blackjack on the weekends. Not a roudy croud - mostly middle aged slot jockeys."

"We stayed in Deadwood for a weekend because I ran the Deadwood Trail Half Marathon. I did my research on the Celebrity Hotel and it was billed as the "nicest" place to stay in Deadwood. That proved to be true. My dad and I stayed in suites 218 and 219 (I think) and I have to tell you....those suites had the same amenities you would find in the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay. I had the largest suite, and I had a whirlpool bathtub, fireplace, electric blinds, heated towel bar, separate vanity, extremely comfortable bed, marble floors, and the list goes on. Terrific accommodations. Don't let the look of the casino fool you...this really is a nice place. As a side note, we ate dinner at the Deadwood Social Club. Great restaurant. Great wine list. The bartender is really slow but the food is extremely good."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Celebrity Hotel in Deadwood. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and willing to answer all our questions. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The morning breakfast was great. We were not very lucky at the slots though. The display cases with memorabilia from different movies was very interesting and the cars in the car museum were super! The central location in town made it easy to get around. We really enjoyed the patio deck which we used quite often. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to this area."

"Rooms were comfortable and well appointed especially the bathrooms. Staff was very accomodating and friendly. Location is great. Casino is intimate and the slots were very friendly. We had 2 rooms, one for my wife and I and one for our 2 sons, our boys were also impressed. Open patio on roof, over-looking main street is a nice touch. Next time in Deadwood, we'll stay at the Celebrity."
